Alcohol Laws For Rhode Island

All alcohol may be sold only in liquor stores.

Bars may stay open until 2 a.m. in Providence only on Friday and Saturday nights and nights before a state-recognized holiday.

Can I drink outside of the bar?
Nope. Where do you think you are, Bourbon Street?

Are there certain hours when I can't buy alcohol?
Unfortunately, there are some restrictions here.
In the bar: 9 am until 1 a.m. (Mon. thru Sat.) Noon until 1 a.m. (Sun)
At the store: 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. (Mon. thru Sat.) 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. (Sun)

What about alcohol sales in grocery stores?
This is one of those places where you have to buy all your alcohol from the state run liquor store. We recommend finding another place to be in.
